Trials of the Gods Week 2 – Sobek – Assassin’s Creed Origins

The second Trials of the Gods has begun! Time to take down Sobek, giant crocodile. The Anubis Gear Set item was glitched (again) for me on the PS4, let me know if was glitched for you as well. [Edit] According to Ubisoft’s support page the blank gear set item was a glitch that was never intended to show up, and has been removed in the latest patch.

In history, Sobek was an ancient Egyptian deity with a complex and fluid nature. He is associated with the Nile crocodile or the West African crocodile and is either represented in its form or as a human with a crocodile head.
Starts today Nov 21st
Ends Nov. 28th

Only the strongest will survive this act of defiance, the rest will become a feast for the god and his hungry children.

The Divinity from Faiyum

Sobek was a god that embodied one of the fiercest predators known to Ancient Egypt. The Nile crocodile was known in particular for its voracity, size, and strength. Egyptians were wary enough to recite spells for protection when crossing known crocodile waters.
Known as the fearsome Lord of Waters, Sobek is the god of water and fertility. Much like his children, Sobek was a figure that was both feared and respected. Portrayed often as a crocodile or crocodile-headed man, Sobek strikes an impressive figure that confirms the danger of crossing him.
According to ancient sources, there were crocodiles specifically bred to honor Sobek in the temples dedicated to him. If you visit the Faiyum temple to Sobek in Assassin’s Creed® Origins, you might meet some of these famous embodiments of the god.

Requirements

In order to face Sobek, you must have completed the questline called Aya. Once you have finished that sequence, you will get a notification for a quest and a location where you will do battle.
While you can attempt this Trial at any point after receiving the quest, the recommended level for facing Sobek is 40.

Reward

You will receive one item from the Anubis Gear Set on your first successful completion of the event. If you want to keep testing your skills, you will continue to receive XP and drachmas.

When Sobek spawns the smaller enemies you can actually assassinate them, so assuming you have the upgrades you can assassinate, chain assassinate, overpower attack, chain throw leaving only one enemy left to fight. I didn’t have the issues getting hit with the AOE’s during the animations for them.
